Paper on the synthesis of one-handed o-oligophenylene-stacked molecules consisting of planar chiral [2.2]paracyclophane was published in Chem. Commun. Helicity of o-oligophenylenes was controlled by planar chirality of a [2.2]paracyclophane unit. It is the first example that one-handed helical o-oligophenylenes emit CPL (|glum| value > 0.01).
