The paper on crystallization of the optically active X-shaped molecule based on planar chiral [2.2]paracyclophane was published in Science.
Synchronous, uniaxial, and stepwise growth of micrometer-scale skeletal single crystals were achieved to obtain vessel-shaped crystals.
This vessel-shaped crystal can be used as a microscopic “vessel” that can hold a tiny volume of liquid.
This work was done by collaboration with Profs Y. Yamamoto and H. Yamagishi (Tsukuba University), AIST, and Rigaku.
